2. Hosting and Provision of the Website
Hosting
This website is hosted on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The server is located in Falkenstein, Germany. When you visit the website, the data listed under “Server log files” is processed on this server. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable provision of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Hetzner processes the data solely on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions.
Server log files
Each time the website is accessed, the following information is automatically recorded in server log files:
- IP address of the requesting device
- date and time of access
- page or file requested
- referrer URL (the previously visited page)
- browser type and version, operating system
This data is required for the technical delivery of the website and to ensure its security (e.g. to defend against attacks). It is not merged with other data sources and is not used to identify individual visitors. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log files are deleted automatically after a short period.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by “https://” and the lock symbol in your browser’s address bar.
Images
Some images on this website are loaded from the server of our company website refolution.de. In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to that server, which is also operated by us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Cookies
This website does not use any cookies or similar technologies that store information on your device or access information stored on it. We do not use any analytics or advertising tools on this website.
4. Newsletter
Subscription and double opt-in
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your e-mail address and, if provided, your first and last name in order to send you information about Referee Solution (new features, case studies, product launch). Providing your name is optional.
We use the double opt-in procedure: after signing up, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your subscription. Only after confirmation will you be added to our mailing list. We store the time of sign-up and confirmation as well as the IP address used, in order to be able to prove your consent.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, e.g. via the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter or by sending us an e-mail. The lawfulness of the processing carried out until withdrawal remains unaffected.
Newsletter service provider Brevo
We send our newsletter via Brevo. The provider is Sendinblue GmbH (Brevo), Köpenicker Straße 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany. Brevo processes your data on our behalf and stores it on servers within the European Union.
Analysis of opens and clicks
Our newsletters contain technical elements that allow us to see whether a newsletter has been opened and which links have been clicked. We use this information to improve our newsletter. This analysis is based on the consent you give when subscribing (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and can be withdrawn together with your newsletter subscription at any time.
Storage period
Your data will be stored for as long as you are subscribed to the newsletter. After you unsubscribe, your e-mail address may be kept on a blocklist to ensure that you do not receive any further newsletters; this is based on our legitimate interest in complying with legal requirements (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
5. Contact by E-mail or Phone
If you contact us by e-mail or phone, we process your details (e.g. name, contact details, content of your request) in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual measures, otherwise our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our e-mail accounts are hosted by Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4–6, 32339 Espelkamp, Germany. Your data will be deleted once your enquiry has been fully processed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Recipients
Your data is only passed on to third parties where this is necessary to provide the website, to send the newsletter or to handle your enquiry, or where we are legally obliged to do so. Recipients are in particular the service providers named in this privacy policy (Hetzner, Brevo, Mittwald), who process the data on our behalf. Your data is not passed on for advertising purposes. Your data is not transferred to countries outside the European Union.
7. Obligation to Provide Data
You are neither legally nor contractually obliged to provide your data. Without your e-mail address, however, we cannot send you the newsletter. No automated decision-making, including profiling, takes place.
8. Your Rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access to your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
Where we process your data on the basis of our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
To exercise your rights, simply contact us using the contact details given above.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg (Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg), Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
